The Professional Women's Group (“PWG”) was founded in the beginning of 2007 and has been the initiative of two professional expatriate women living in Gothenburg who saw an opportunity in creating a platform for women to discuss professional ideas, concerns and issues.

After a year of activities the PWG has established itself as a networking group for all those women in West Sweden interested in various aspects of careers, business and personal development.

The PWG is not for profit. All activities are run by a voluntary organizing committee.

We are not affiliated with any of the official organizations in West Sweden although we do advertise our existence with them and try to work with them whenever beneficial for the mission of the group.

Group members meet every 4 - 6 weeks and through workshops, discussion and networking they have the opportunity to discuss business ideas, advertise their services, gain different insights, develop new skills and to act as each others sounding board. We also invite guest speakers for some meetings.

Currently, the group’s organizing committee communicates with the group members through a mailing list. Through regular emails the planned activities of the group and interesting news about related subjects are dispersed to the members.

All communication and meetings are in English.

Currently the PWG has over 120 women living in West Sweden on the mailing list. Group members are both Swedish and international women between 20 and 65, with and without families. The common denominator is their professional background and their interest in business and career. Working at one of Gothenburg’s well known companies like SKF, Volvo and SAAB, having their own business in coaching, graphic design or personal services or being a researcher, writer or artist, these women are well educated, broad minded and ambitious.
